It kinda sucks you don’t get to see them play but at least you get to hear it. The worse part is you get so caught up in the job sometimes you don’t even get to enjoy hearing it. Front of the pit at a punk show is not a fun place to work. Sweat, blood, and spit.

But yeah watching a show from the wings can be a bit disapointing like you said, probably precicely because everyone has their in-ear mix. It became really bad (if you can call it that) when Kempers and such began to rise in popularity. I used to actually prefer watching shows from somewhere onstage, I still do if im plugged in, but it’s too dry if there’s literally nothing on stage but some wedges.
Also a lighttech would literally never watch a movie during a show, especially Disturbed’s tech lol. No way. Maybe he’s meming or something.
