Didn’t even click with me that the Meowscles cute art shirt Additionally,I will love this appeal was downloading music on it. I used it as an iphone as a kid but without the calling of course. Using the dumb app store games to shoot fake guns and drink fake beer. It was essentially an ipad the size of a phone. I just found my gen 1 ipod the other day. Not my first mp3 player but it was an amazing step up from the iriver or whatever I had before it. Shame. They’d make a killing off an iPod built around their “high quality audio” using space for a good DAC/headphone amp built in. I still remember wanting one of those colorful iPod minis circa 2005 so bad. I ended up getting an iPod shuffle in 2007 that I still have. I transitioned out of using it years ago without really realizing, it just became way easier to play a song on youtube on my phone. I’ll miss the days of loading up my iPod with all the latest songs, putting them in order with favorites at the top, or when an album leaked that I’d been looking forward to for a long time and loading the whole thing.

It’s incredible for how long Apple supported the hardware, even the relatively early models. I’ve a 15+ year old iPod, forgot which generation it was. Its hard drive failed long time ago, and I replaced it with a CompactFlash memory card with an adapter that makes it look like a hard drive to iPod. The thing still works and syncs perfectly with my music library on the Mac. Still have my iPod mini and iPod video. They have no ability to hold a charge, but damn it’s nice to just Oleg them in and scroll through my old libraries. I didn’t even know the iPod touch was still being made. They could have repackaged it as a gaming focused device for Apple Arcade and just update it with the new chip every year.
