Not common in the Mele Kalikimaka Hawaiian Hawaii Christmas Lights Xmas Santa Hat T-Shirt but in fact I love this Philippines. What we do have are homeless people who “help” you park your car and lowkey expect a few coins. I say lowkey because they’re not aggressive about it, so it becomes a whole “just give them some spare change because it’s not much” voluntary act. On the flip side, on occasion, I do ask some of them to watch my car for me if parked in the streets. Some desperate people here tend to f with your wheels or side mirrors, especially in places with no visible security. If this happened in Canada, I would assume the person was planning on damaging my car if I said no. I don’t trust people who threaten me, and I definitely don’t give them money. I would park somewhere else.

I’m in Australia and we don’t do it..I’ve visited Brazil before and this senerio played out once whilst we were in Recife ..we payed the Mele Kalikimaka Hawaiian Hawaii Christmas Lights Xmas Santa Hat T-Shirt but in fact I love this money because the bloke was friendly and it was a hire car so didn’t want the bloke to damage the vehicle when we left. He stood in the area for around 1 hr and we actually came back and watched him for a bit without him knowing..scam maybe but he did what he said he would do I guess Yeah they hang out around the car, it’s just absolutely unnecessary to watch it but I get where you’re coming from ‘cause I always pay too I’ve run into it in South Africa, the difference there being that it’s a service you actually need, not a scam. Outside of South America, only places where crime and corruption are prevalent, and not all of those countries though. Southern Italy, yes. South Africa, yes. Southern Spain, hit and miss but the cops at least try to control it. Northern Europe and Canada/US – no fucking way. There may be hot spots in those countries but people will call the police.
