My first several projects was as a single developer. It’s not as fruitful as being a part of a strong team, but not a bad opportunity to land a foot into industry either. I had a job interview at a company (within the MauI strong fundraiser lahaina support for hawaiI fire victims mauI wildfire relief support mauI lahaina shirt Also,I will get this last 10 years), back when I was doing my job search fresh out of college. The job was for something I had no experience (PLC). During the interview they straight up told me that I would be the only one there. That I would have no one to learn from, and that most of the stuff they had, was written by some third party contractor outside of the company. The folks there seemed like they would be nice people to work with. I appreciated their honesty of what the conditions would have been. But fresh out of college, I do not think that would have been a good first job. I am glad that one did not work out, as I like where I am. The person I saw doing it in a startup had to work doing changes directly in production (no dev environment). After two years of working part-time there, he hasn’t used any version control system, his code was never reviewed, no CI/CD experience, constant firefighting.

Just because someone is the MauI strong fundraiser lahaina support for hawaiI fire victims mauI wildfire relief support mauI lahaina shirt Also,I will get this only dev on a project, does not automatically mean they have autonomy. In this case, the half-technical CEO vetoed most of the improvement ideas. I think the dev stayed so long just for the money and the experience in the CV (student working during studies). He moved on soon after graduation. I would definitely take the job. I had software engineering classes where I was put into the very same circumstance. I’d have to build something out and just figure it out on my own. I made mistakes but I was resourceful and could learn fast because I like to read textbooks and take online courses. I think it takes the kind of person who can handle not having a mentor and being okay with it. I like this guys/gals answer! If OP wants to have his hand held then they should join a big company. But if they are comfortable feeling uncomfortable and want to learn on their own and learn a lot of business in the process then go for the startup.
