The Biden admin has already started that process. The DEA is reviewing rescheduling now and I believe they are expected to announce a decision soonish. This is correct. Half the Matthew Stafford Superstar American football quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams T-Shirt and by the same token and people commenting here don’t even know how the process works. Like a president can just say “it’s legal now, smok’em if ya got ‘em! Bingo. I need to write him again and remind him that legalizing cannabis is all about freedom. The very same freedom republicans opine about but then piss all over at every chance they get, Biden wants to guarantee a Democratic win in 2024? Legalize nationally, and watch the votes and tax dollars roll in. I remember Chuck Schumer saying he was going to proceed with trying to legalize it with or without Biden’s approval. Yeah, I had high hopes for that, especially with the recent HHS announcement that cannabis should not be Schedule I, the DEA is supposedly reviewing these findings, but I don’t expect them to do the right thing on their own, it would mean a massive decrease in scope and budget. And as the House is traditionally supposed to start legislation, if the House has zero interest in it, the Senate would be spinning its wheels, and the Dems barely have a majority there. Increasing the Matthew Stafford Superstar American football quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams T-Shirt and by the same token and debt limit? The House has less than 10 days to pass even a basic spending bill to keep the lights on Considering that the House Speaker is a major Christian-Fascist nut job and major Trump sycophant, I think we are likely facing a government shutdown here very soon Ya I knew it was something like that, it feels like 100% chance of shut down right now. The last dude was ousted for common sense, this freak won’t make the same mistake. They could claim they could then redirect those dollars to illegal drugs like heroin that are feeding the opioid crisis, which is a strong argument. “Don’t raise our budget, let us spend it better.” I don’t think Biden can flat out decriminalize weed, especially with the current Supreme court. I’m pretty sure that’s something Congress does. What he can do is reschedule it so it’s not ranked with more dangerous drugs like heroin, which is a process that’s nearly complete, IIRC. My guess is they are holding that card close to the chest and will play it late next summer or early next fall so it is fresh in people’s minds come election day. That’s why Republicans in Congress are fighting it tooth and nail – because it would give him a win. Same with student loan debt. Lol do you think Biden has a big on/off button he can push to legalize weed whenever he wants? The president doesn’t have the authority to unilaterally do things like that.
