Just be open to meeting new people in general, just to expand your social circle. You could take community classes – pottery, music ensemble, language practice. The apps are hit or miss. Frankly I realize I’ve been investing way too much time and thought into them for next to no actual headway gained irl. It can come to feel like a chore. Better to spend more time doing things you actually enjoy, and use apps as a supplement (say if you find someone 10 miles outside where you frequent day to day) I’m old school, maybe some of your friends could play matchmaker? People that really know you can have a good idea of who you might fit with. I’ve never done online dating but know people who have successfully found their person that way. Church groups are good but only if you are there genuinely. My two long-term relationships came from being classmates to friends and then being set up through family. Bars and clubs are usually not a great place to meet someone, they are more likely playing games and chasing highs.

Find ways to do your hobbies in more social settings… sign up for a cooking class; language meetups or event for cultures that speak that language; find a musical group to jam, play with, perform with, etc. I’m pretty introverted, too, and found people to date from being around people over a period of time.
