I have no idea what is inside them but that brand in particular makes it immediately impossible to breathe. Plenty of the other kinds do the same, too. I don’t know why people would fill their house with something like that. I genuinely fear the day I enter an Uber filled with that glade shit and I don’t have a rescue inhaler on me. Even after I use my inhaler, my throat burns for days being around the scented plug ins. I had one of those ones you clip to your car vent and the oil from it melted the plastic. Never used them again—can’t imagine how bad they are for your lungs

I wish people would just stop buying artificially scented/flavored things. But in all seriousness wow I had no idea plug-ins can be so damaging! I knew something was off about them? Since the moment I smelled them lol. It’s probably just the ethanol or isopropyl alcohol (drinking and rubbing alcohol) that was used as the solvent to dissolve the fragrances. They can weaken plastics and even strip paint. isn’t that because of the heat? why are ppl in the thread commenting like these things are leaking poison. aren’t they just alcohol, or are they really not safe to have plugged in? Y’all need to stop with all these scents in the house to cover up. Just clean up your house and open up the window. Of course if I pour the scent liquid on me or ingest it, or my cats ingest the liquid, that would be dangerous, but is there any proof or articles anyone can point me to that corroborates this seemingly paranoid school of thought? Besides everyone just saying “imagine what that’ll do to your lungs!” I’m just skeptical that a plug in scent diffuser or even a candle is harmful. Unless I’m putting it in my mouth. Man, the smell of those things sticks to clothes, Tupperware, basically permeates everything you own… people from homes that use these usually REEK but are noseblind to it themselves. Whenever I smell fake smell like this it makes me question what the fake smell is supposed to be covering up. Usually I assume the house or place is just dirty but it could be worse.
