This is deadly to the schemes of faiths, bigots, and autocrats alike. No one who goes after the libraries has anything but the absolute worst fates in mind for everybody else. When legislators go after the libraries, they must be swiftly and decisively removed from society. Otherwise, the moment they’re done, the rest of us are next. I really enjoyed my junior high school library. Then in high school my favorite English teacher had a great book collection, and I also visited the high school library. This is sad news. Don’t get your information from TikTok, kids. Look to reputable sources. Check more than one source. Libraries are cool. If the statistics on illiteracy I’ve been coming across accurately reflect reality, quite a few of them can’t read in the first place. Or not well enough to derive much benefit from it.
