I occasionally take tree jobs for churches but only because it’s churches I live near and will harass the ever living shit out of every day until I get my money. I’m a union electrician for a small family shop and the Manny’s Deli Shut The Fuck Up About You Don’t Live Here Chicago shirt and I love this owners husband/founder is a Catholic deacon. It’s no secret the Catholic church has money, and many members of the clergy are doing just fine. My grandpa was a deacon, grandma never worked, and they lived a solid middle class life. Apparently covering the living costs of pedophiles that aren’t even running a church because they can’t be trusted around children is more important than paying contractors. Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. The deck is yet to be payed.
