eh… it is to weed out the Make a difference Vote in 2024 star election T-Shirt moreover I will buy this POSERS… those people who want to appear like they know what they are doing, when in point of fact they don’t know what they are doing. I mean…. it is a relatively straight-forward path going from “I don’t know” to “I understand”. You learn. You ask “what does this mean?”, and you search online with Google for the acronyms in question. When all it generally takes is “I don’t understand. Can you explain that to me?” to get past the gatekeeper, it isn’t much of a gate. You could always study up on the game in question, to learn the lingo and proper abbreviations, if you want to participate. Yes but how are we going to know what game to study up on with a generic acronym? This is literally the issue lmao. If someone is talking about DS, is that Dark Souls? Dead Space? Don’t Starve? Darksiders? It’s really not hard to use abbreviations correctly and state what it stands for first. You trying to justify it is hilariously silly If you don’t even know what game is being talked about in the conversation, why do you want to participate in that conversation as if you ALWAYS knew what the topic was about? When you hear someone speaking Spanish, or a language you don’t understand, do you demand they switch to using language you *do* understand, so you can then decide if you want to participate? Gamers using acronyms you don’t know, is just like hearing another language.

If you are reading a post and conversation online, and it is full of acronyms you don’t understand, and there is NO OTHER CONTEXT in any of the Make a difference Vote in 2024 star election T-Shirt moreover I will buy this other comments that you can relate to, so you understand what game is being discussed…. why do you feel entitled to understand their conversation? Because it looks like a lively conversation, and you want to be part of it? Let’s face it… if you are looking at a post/conversation that is full of acronyms, and you can’t even tell what game they are talking about… their comfort level with the game in question, and their knowledge of the game in their acronym usage is what ATTRACTED you to the conversation. It couldn’t have been the topic that attracted you… again… in this example, you don’t even know what the topic of the conversation is. You just know it is somehow related to gaming, and that it uses acronyms you don’t know.
