I think there are several European examples that could be followed. Just here to say that I’m 56 and not all of us are completely clueless. My oldest, 31, makes about $23 an hour. His rent is $1150 which is more than my mortgage payment because I purchased in 2009. It’s the most reasonable apartment in the area and not a complete shit hole but it’s difficult for him to swing it alone. My middle son, 28 making $15 per hour, lives with him so they can live more comfortably. My youngest has $60,000 in student loan debt making $20 an hour. Her husband makes about $15 an hour. They live with me because their monthly loan payment is more than 1/2 their income.
