There was a post on reddit a while back going into how deep the Love You More Shirt but in fact I love this CSA shit was engrained in Tumblr. You’d almost never notice it as a regular browser but if you got into the right tags and patterns it was suddenly absolutely everywhere. There were communities of people trying to report it but Tumblr never kept up with the flood. It was a good post on wrangling the internet wild west, but it was from back in 2017 so I have no idea where it is now… In any case, it’s good Automattticc owns Tumblr now. They’re a solid company and why the platform is growing again. I mean yeah, Twitter has it too. And Reddit. If you know the communities, hashtags, etc, it’s a problem on every site. Degenerate criminals will always find a way around. Especially on Telegram. Seconded. It also has some of the best built-in features for posting, like queues, scheduling posts (for years in advance if you want!), a much more customizable posting format (font colors, markup, adding up to 30 images per post), and a pretty non-invasive advertisement system.

Serious question — was banning porn what did Tumblr in for the Love You More Shirt but in fact I love this main users? Or was there something else bad that they did The porn ban was emblematic. It meant a more conservative, traditional business attitude would be making decisions on the website. Heaven forbid Master Card or Apple sees a nipple. As well, Yahoo was already known for running a bad news service filled with the kind of bad slanted new Tumblr folk loves to tear down. The vibe was soured and dad pissed in the punch, the party ended. Years ago someone on reddit posted a detail account of just what an awful ceo/person she is, that would get re-posted from time to time. I sure hope someone can find it, I feel like being enraged this morning. Actually the interesting thing about Marissa Mayer is that her entire career has been being extremely lucky. She got in at Google because Larry Page was her boyfriend. She got in at Yahoo because Google happened to be successful. She ran Yahoo into the ground BUT Yahoo happened to invest in Chinese company Alibaba and that investment grew into an ownership stake that was worth billions, more than Yahoo itself.
