When things get really bad I shut in for a couple of days and often listen to music on self destructive levels of volume until I’m able to cry, then I move on. On normal levels I usually just beatbox, sing and dance to release stress… Or I just become 0% productive for a while and I use my phone/PC 24/7 until I feel better Put on an interesting audiobook and play a silly little phone game, one that makes you match colours or sort shapes or whatever. NSFW: I also use sex as a coping mechanism and didn’t realize it for many years. So many things make more sense now. My coping mechanism fuels my sadness even more. I close myself off from everyone else and people think of me as a statue with no emotions, which leads me to closing off more and more…it’s viscous and I have tried to stop this but I can’t. My brain can’t handle the Love Puzzle ribbon Autism Awareness flower T-Shirt but in fact I love this fear of people seeing me different from how they have always thought me as. So I become complacent. Shutting down emotions to deal with crisis/conflict. Coming form chaotic and high demand household I would always be ready to fight/do things. There was no place for expresssing emotions in my childhood.
