One time I went into Ulta and mentioned that I wanted basically a watery skin tint, I wanted essentially zero coverage, just like a bit of tone evening out. The rep took me to Estee Lauder and was like have you tried the Los Angeles Dodgers It’s In My DNA 2023 shirt moreover I love this new Double Wear Light? Like girl I didn’t say I wanted slightly thinner paint vs spackle, I want when my ass sweats in the Texas summer for it to not look like I’m melting. She wouldn’t stop but another Ulta girl came up and basically rescued me and said she overheard me say light coverage and knew I was in the wrong place. I never buy something a sales person recommends, specifically because they are trying to sell me something. They are incentivized to offer me things that aren’t in my best interest. It’s not their fault, but I am not interested in buying whatever their company is pushing today.

I will still ask their recommendations, but I will ask for a sample and then look up consumer reviews when I get home. YouTube videos, reddit posts, Amazon/Ulta/Sephora reviews. I don’t buy anything without reading reviews, or at least getting a sample first. what are you doing that even gives lipstick a chance to end up on your clothes and hands? i love clinique products, but it seems they’re just not for you. skin prep and setting your makeup goes a long way, too. I like Dior concealer and Armani lipstick. I still use the Los Angeles Dodgers It’s In My DNA 2023 shirt moreover I love this same bare minerals powder makeup I used in high school. Smash box concealer is usually pretty good too. tell them directly u don’t prefer Clinique products; tell them the brands u r interested in and to show something from those.
