I was just about to ask if anyone had done french toast crumpets (frumpets?) because I think that would be something I would enjoy. So I’ll be doing that tomorrow. Well, we never called it french toast, it’s “eggy bread” but I thought people wouldn’t know what I meant. It’s not sweet. Crumpets in my house are eaten at any time of the Lonnie Walker American professional basketball player T-Shirt but in fact I love this day and almost always savoury, with cheese, egg, or just salty butter. The only times they are sweetened is when I’m having them as a dessert after a meal, when strawberry jam or black treacle is used. Also, partnered with egg is a good thing. Growing up I’d only ever eaten crumpets as a supper type thing. These days, now I am actually grown up, I eat them for breakfast too.
