Unless you are in the top 20% merchants delivering 80% of value. In that case, your commission could be as low as 8% Any new business like yours, doesn’t create much value for for platform in beginning. Infant it’s a cost & service. And when it’s start creating value, it also creates power to negotiate & reduce commission

My order mostly ranges from 300-800 Rs range as an individual and the cost of fuel and time to drive upto the restaurant would be over and above the 30% commision on an average 500 Rs order. People and restaurants are free to choose their service after understanding the cost/fees they need to pay. If you are in agreement then go ahead else you are free to take your business else where. Apple have a huge profit margin yet people are willing to pay as in a free market you charge what you can with people ready to pay. This is how businesses grow and become giants. If zomato was your business, would you not do the same?
