Once I had Torrent and a decently long weapon. I basically just ran around and poked him before taking distance again. On my third playthrough. I furled my fingers to sell my services all between the lands before I went back and beat him much too easily and for an item I might have preferred much earlier. I didnt proceed until I beat him, and it was a good warm up for the game. Only about 14h of attempts, but then I beat him no hits. Then finished the game with his wep lol. Immediately after getting Torrent, though I did spend like an hour and a half trying to beat him without Torrent Tbh, I completely forgot about him. Way after I beat the game, I was waiting at that site of grace for someone to coop and I was like “wait, did I kill this guy?”. Turns out no, so I owed him a surprise Comet Azul. I went through all of limegrave. Did the dungeons. Then had this and the knight on the hill. Passed the gate then make a left and come back to the cliff edge? That knight. But before I beat that guy I summoned the wolves and went to town on this guy. Took me 11 tries. But I finally killed him with luck. I think he got stuck on something for a second there. And I went to town on him. Even then it came down to, like, 1 more hit and I would have been dead. I refused to leave until I beat him the first time and ended up memorizing his patterns. Took me about an hour and a half the first time but I can now consistently beat him deathless on new game, so that’s nice. Never came back, even since first run I just kill him out the gate. Took a few deaths to learn when to roll some attacks, but really telegraphed boss if you avoid panic rolling
