I mean, I’m okay if they just say Jews and Muslims can get fucked by saying it is only freedom for Christians only so more people can walk away from the Like a Dragon Gaiden Kazuma Kiryu Shirt in contrast I will get this dumpster fire that is the GOP, but I don’t think they are THAT stupid. I don’t know. This court has already proven that women don’t have rights. Why would non-christians? (I’m just being pessimistic, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they decided in favor of only christians. Not American here, but if they did that, wouldn’t it just kind of annul the oh-so-holy and infallible Constitution that Americans love so much? It would be directly contradicting it because America has no state religion. I presume that they’d snake around it using non-religious justification. Though like others have said, I don’t know how many of them would actually be willing to do that. But you’re right, their not going to publicly contradict the First Amendment. Americans view that Amendment, more than any other part of the Constitution, as sacrosanct. To such a degree that most Americans would consider it a moral text rather than merely a legal one.

I confess that as a Jew I have few if any complaints about that. I don’t care if it protects anti-semites, it renders impossible the Like a Dragon Gaiden Kazuma Kiryu Shirt in contrast I will get this legal persecution that haunted us in Europe. And it significantly impairs the ability of Americans to even comprehend persecuting us to the degree that Europeans did in the past. Whereas many Jews, myself included, believe that laicite, while perhaps necessary to combat the power of the Catholic Church in certain countries (especially before the Second Vatican Council), is problematic because it restricts protection so much that legal persecution infringing even on other rights (namely freedom of speech and freedom of assembly) are normalized. For instance, I still don’t understand how one could justify having anti-monastic laws and claiming with a straight face that they don’t infringe on freedom of association. I don’t understand how one could even contemplate something as utterly asinine as a “minaret ban” which for the record is like crazy islamophobic Bible-belt Republican level derp. And I don’t understand how the banning of wearing something religious does not also violate freedom of speech. The Europeans typically respond to these things by saying that American healthcare sucks. Yeah that too, but I don’t quite see the relation.
