A path some of these people started on was being Berniebros. But now they’re at a point that they’d consider Bernie Sanders’ lack of ambition in destroying the Legendary Since April 1957 Stars T-Shirt also I will do this market economy a sign that he is a literal fascist sympathizer and an enabler of the neo-capitalist hegemony. Did a quick (in)sanity check on Twitter, and quickly come across an account, at least proporting to be American, with a “Z” profile pic, spouting literal USSR propaganda, condemning liberals for being too far right, attacking Nazi’s, as well as America, and generally aligning the two as the same entity. Supporting Labor movements, supporting China, etc. Posting pictures of the Ukrainian flag as evidence of Nazi propaganda. At first I just assumed accounts like this were false flags, or literal propaganda coming from Russia or something. But these are now real communities that are forming and growing fast, and they are Americans, with about the same level of nuance and critical thinking and ego as the Alt Right. Reddit breeds them too. Bernie doesn’t fit in here. Bernie Sanders was maybe suggesting things that weren’t popular to some people or the establishment. But his ideas were at least grounded in possibility and reality.

But I’d not call him Far Left by any stretch, and there is a Far Left presence, and they’re as crazy and deluded as the Legendary Since April 1957 Stars T-Shirt also I will do this Far Right. In fact they share a lot of the same opinions and would get along well together if they weren’t diametrically opposed fiscally. Even writing this and saying that these tankies are deluded is going to be opening me up to a lot of shit if it gets noticed. I’m sure to be called a Nazi myself. So I think this is kind of a bad take. I’m not a big fan of Elon Musk, but I agree with what he’s saying here if his concept of the Far Left and the Far Right mirror my own. The issue is that people who have not been exposed to those circles, the Far Left seems like just normal people trying to live their life without abuse from the Far Right who maybe think things might be nicer if things were a bit more fair. But the Far Left to me is well past that. And the same people who are trying to live their life without abuse from the Far Right, like the trans people, like the genderfluid, like people who are sick of inequality, are being recruited or attacked by the Far Left, opting to either join them or get attacked by them for supporting fascism. This group doesn’t have the political power right now, where the Far Right has a lot of political influence, but the Far Left doesn’t. It does have a growing voice though, and it’s just as insane.
