I am not placing blame anywhere because he could have picked this bug up anywhere (and we have an older kid in school), but my mom and MIL have both scoffed at me wanting them to wash hands/wear a mask when holding the Lebowski Iron Throne This aggression will not stand man shirt and I love this baby and at my requests to not kiss him, so if that happens again going forward I will happily be ripping them a new one. People suck. I’m proud of you for setting a boundary the way you did!! I need to get better at doing the same. People will take as much as you let them and the only person who can truly advocate for your well being is you. Saying this mainly to remind myself ): I’ve been arguing with my mom who watches my baby during the day (I pay her) about how I would like her to tell me if she is feeling sick or has been around someone who is sick so that I can take the day off work and watch the baby instead of her coming over and getting all of us sick….of course being the boomer that she is she’s upset that I’m “trying to tell her how to live her life” and “people are getting back to normal”. Well tbh…if you didn’t tell people you were sick before coming over before the pandemic you were an asshole, and you definitely are one now….not sure what to do because I’m probably going to have to fire my mom lol. I don’t understand how I was raised by these people. Hopefully, she figures out my very simple instructions, but if she doesn’t she’s gotta go. My wife is pregnant, if she gives us all covid through negligence or carelessness I’m just going to be…beyond. So that’s a long way of saying I feel you.

Wow, is our mom the Lebowski Iron Throne This aggression will not stand man shirt and I love this same person? When we originally told her our boundaries i got a lot of careless remarks and she continued to have her own idea about how she’d behave around us. What is it about that generation that makes them so stubborn and unreasonable about the simplest boundary? I don’t know about yours but mine also became the most sensitive person when confronted and immediately pulled the victim card. I guess what is also upsetting is that i felt the person that should’ve had my back the most would be my own mother. And now she’s put me in such an uncomfortable position and i need to confront her behavior. Yeah, I HATE that people want to kiss my baby. We’re just emerging from a pandemic. Why is it so hard for some people to keep their mouth off my baby?! Right?! Like what is the obsession? Sick or not, don’t bring germs into my newborns face! This is literally how i ended up with cold sores for life – because someone couldn’t refrain from kissing me as a baby. I’d hate for something worse to happen to my own baby for something that is so easily avoided.
