Kind of something going on at my new job. wait, I notice usually when toxic masculinity is brought up it’s about how it affects women. but I haven’t read a single comment yet about how toxic femininity affects men Nah, toxic feminity is a conspiracy theory, like toxic massculinity. Women can be just as rectum holes as men, thats all. Its been seriously surprising to me discovering how many women are very willing to hit themselves with objects so they can tell people/authorities that their partner is beating them. As toxic masculinity, I think toxic femininity is doing ANYTHING that’s not normal for you as an individual – just to be considered feminine. For me that is refraining from taking the Laugh Like Katt Williams American stand-up comedian and actor T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this lead or acting decisively in a group setting even when I know that I’m the most qualified . Normally, it just means the toxic elements of stereotypical masculinity. This does involve things like not being able to cry but also stuff like misogyny, sexual entitlement, and violent domination tendencies. IMO, toxic femininity is similar to toxic masculinity in that it involves people- women included- enforcing toxic feminine stereotypes on women. For example- a women scolding another woman for feeding her baby with formula instead of breastfeeding; shaming women who don’t wear make up, shave, or otherwise obsess over their looks; the enforcement of diet culture (though that’s increasingly impacting men as well!); assuming a woman wants to be mother on account of being a women; assuming that a woman is interested in or good at performing stereotypically feminine things on account of being a woman (though those last two are also just straight-up misogyny). I’m sure there are some more and better examples in the comments, but that’s my two cents!
