I was going to leave a review advising solo female travellers to pass but I realise now this doesn’t make too much sense. I’m gathering from reviews that 1. he doesn’t treat men and couples this way, 2. he isn’t always here. According to him he’ll be travelling again next month. Not sure where you are in Africa, but I am very familiar with west Africa. And in rural areas what you are describing is normal in homes. You are best to stay in reputable hotels. The drunk, inappropriate host is not normal. That alone Should be enough to leave. I’ve also traveled a bit around east, west and South Africa, can’t say an infestation of roaches to that extent is a normal thing at all, and I’ve stayed in some very basic villages at different times of the Las Vegas Raiders Michael Mayer Football Paper Shirt Apart from…,I will love this year. This will both be proof of the issues, but also proof of how you left the space. THIS. Trust your intuition. Even without the bug issues, which would be a major dealbreaker for me, a man who behaves as this one is = HUGE HUGE red flag. Get out of there. Safety first.
