Could this set a bad precedent that could backfire though? I’m even pro-choice and I worry this tactic could be used against pro-choice later I didn’t think Democrat voters would be riled up before midterms but here we go. Republicans gave them something to come out and vote LOL. Good job. It’s just insane to me that there is video evidence of these SCOTUS members saying during their confirmation hearings that they had no intentions of attack Roe V Wade, yet here we are. We seriously need some higher accountability in situations like this. I watched the Las Vegas Raiders 3X Super Bowl Champions sport shirt but in fact I love this hearings on the Justices in question, and if you listen to what they said, they never committed any position on Roe because it was still a contentious subject. ACB specifically said that Roe wouldnt qualify as “super precedent” which is precedent that is so settled that challenging it would defy logic, simply because Roe was still such a controversial issue. Gorsuch said Roe was precedent, and that if Trump made his nomination contingent on overturning Roe, he would have declined the nomination. But he never once said he wouldnt overturn it if the right case came before the court. These are highly trained lawyers, they know exactly what to say and how to say it so it doesnt leave them open to any commitments on the record one way or another.

The mississippi case was not something they were briefed on during their confirmation and for whatever reason they voted to turn abortion back over to the Las Vegas Raiders 3X Super Bowl Champions sport shirt but in fact I love this states apparently. It hasnt been made official yet, but thats the typical position of conservatives anyways, to let the states essentially make their own rules since Roe is constitutionally vague, and their focus is on the constitutionality of a matter. With so many states pushing for late term abortion, something that goes further than Roe was intended for, its clear that states have their own ideas about what abortion should look like. I think if Roe was followed strictly by the states, we wouldnt be having this conversation. Roe was never meant to be the answer to bad choices at any point during a pregnancy, and it was never presented that way, but like anything else, you give an inch and people will take a mile, and the abortion debate has raged on ever since. My late father’s cousin Carrie died of an illegal abortion in the 1920s or 1930s. In the late 1960s my roommate at Goddard College in Vermont had to go to Puerto Rico to get an illegal abortion.
