Thou shall have no other people in thy shot. Even if they give you permission. If you have to approach strangers for permission to film in a gym, you are being a creep. Thou shalt not film in locker rooms/changing areas. This is a 1-and-done banishment from the Klay Thompson American professional basketball player for Golden State Warriors T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this gym forever. Honestly you should get some jail time for this shit, it’s incredibly invasive. Thou shalt not use gym equipment to set up a platform for your phone. Thou shalt only set up a tripod/roomba/whatever the fuck to hold your phone in an area where no one else is or walks. Thou shalt not use gym equipment for anything other than sets. Do your set, wipe the gear, and move. There are no do-overs, let me film it again. People will get so frustrated with you they will deviate from the biblical theme of this post and rip your heart out Aztec-style. And thou shalst deserve it.

If someone asks you, for any reason, to stop filming…Stop. Think about it for a second. If a stranger is uncomfortable with what you are doing and they work up the Klay Thompson American professional basketball player for Golden State Warriors T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this nerve to come and ask you to stop, don’t escalate that situation. I don’t film myself at the gym, but if others want to, and they can live by these rules, I’m good with it. If they can’t and they test the faith of their fellow gym members, eventually they’re going to get stoned with kettle bells and dumbbells. No, there are two sides to filming, one is people watching their own form to improve technique, this is important. The second is influencers, their channels thrive on the drama and glamor, I draw this distinction, if it can be proven they’re causing drama for views in the gym, they get banned permanently from the gym, if they are just modeling, no harm no foul, most of us lift for some aesthetic reason or another and going online with the results is harmless . I don’t think so. Recording your form is a necessary party of improvement! As long as you’re not obnoxious about it by taking up a lot of space, setting up in a way that prevents others from getting to equipment, or being a creeper it’s all good.
