I feel like I know you’re joking but the Kimi Raikkonen Finnish racing driver who competed T-Shirt in contrast I will get this thought you put into your comment also makes me feel like you sincerely believe that, which is amazing. Not dumb at all. I was thinking it looked for sure like a lot less water by the time it reached the bottom. Wet takes water. For sure a lot less water, there’s a bit left on every step the whole way, and not just slightly moist but up to small puddles, espescially on the larger pause steps. I don’t think it’s dumb, a lot of steps aren’t solid underneath and on the sides, when I first watched I thought I wonder what it looks like leaking underneath, only about halfway through did I see it was like, solid cement steps They have to take all of the L shaped boxes of soap and replace them with 7’s, and then the water goes the other way. You know those old-school government buildings with the giant steps out front that nobody ever uses? I always fantasized about turning them all into waterfalls. This made my day. There are a couple DC metro stations deeper than that. The Wheaton metro station actually has the longest escalator in the western hemisphere. This video doesn’t even do it justice. This one and the one by the zoo are so cool to ride up. The first time I did I was actually terrified looking up from the bottom lol

I dont think any of them get clean with just the Kimi Raikkonen Finnish racing driver who competed T-Shirt in contrast I will get this soapy water. if no one scrubs them down they just dry out and become slippery AND dirty. As an escalator mechanic, I cringe at this. There’s 2 escalators on either side of the stairs, and the pits at the bottom will take much of that water. Then comes rust, spiders and insects, and other troubles. This reminds me of how we cleaned a summer camp mess hall, we would fill up very large trash cans with steamy hot soapy water and bleach and dump it out on the floor, it would normally take three to four trash cans to do before washing off with cold water. This is İstanbul’s subway. Pretty sure I’ve never smelled urine there in 10 years. It’s extraordinarily clean in general
