Always pissed me off that the Killers of the Flower Moon shirt besides I will buy this post office used them for change, because no other store thought they were real money. It’s like when I tried to spend a $2 bill and all the millenial checkers had never heard of one. For my 13th birthday my dad took me to Chicago for the day. Got off the plane and dropped a 20 in a change machine thinking I would get singles or maybe 5s. Spent the rest of the day walking around museums with $20 in sacagewea coins jingling in my pocket I remember traveling somewhere in the US and had such a jackpot experience buying a transit ticket with a twenty. You say this was in Dallas so my best guess is I was in Austin! My middle school vending machines gave these back, so I’d put a dollar in, hit refund, and get a dollar coin back. I probably had more gold dollars at once than any other form of money until I had a job.

Yeah, I have a bunch of the Killers of the Flower Moon shirt besides I will buy this dollar coins from buying train tickets. They may as well not have bothered giving change, because these coins are just uselessly sitting in my house for years and going on decades. I took them to the store once just to get rid of them, and the cashier wouldn’t take them. same here, these coins are the worst. only had a 20 now u gotta walk around like ur a pirate or leprechaun all day. Just walking around you sound like a cowboy in spurs, and good luck spending them bc no one else wanted them either. I was taking the bus around once, had to make change at the machine in the terminal. Found out the only bill i had was a 20. Sucking up my pride (and glad i was wearing cargo shorts), i put it in the machine and prepared for 80 goddamn quarters… instead i got 20 president dollar coins. All i could say was “holy shit, doubloons!” This happened to me a few times at public transport or USPS. Problem was I didn’t want to carry around 15-19 coins so they always got tossed in a jar at home, was a really effective savings program.
