If we went by only special elections, democrats are ahead by double digits. Democrats have overperformed by huge margins, even in races they haven’t won. Consider a recent one in Oklahoma where they got within 5 points of a seat that is in an R+35 territory. That kind of swing is quite massive. In a vacuum it means nothing but it’s been happening constantly They’ve flipped dozens of seats – Virginia legislature, statewide positions in Arizona, hell they came within 3 points of the Kevin Durant American professional basketball player Phoenix Suns T-Shirt But I will love this governorship of frickin Mississippi. Polls show Ted Cruz tied with Collin Allred. Take for instance Lauren Boebert – her seat was supposed to be safe R (R+7) but she came with a half percentage point of losing (500 votes) and tried to move districts to keep her seat, which is failing dramatically. When you consider this, consider the partisan lean of these districts:

These four live in districts that could, in a blue wave year, be vulnerable or at least tight. Is it a blue wave year? Potentially. It might be, might not be. But they certainly fear it or they wouldn’t consider leaving. They’re still really young comparatively to leave. 2. Even if we don’t go by special elections, Trump is more and more likely by the Kevin Durant American professional basketball player Phoenix Suns T-Shirt But I will love this hour to be the nominee. That cements a few things – first it’s 10000 times harder to make money to run a campaign on. Because trump takes all the small dollar donations for himself, leaving crumbs for everyone else. It was a huge complaint in 2022 from the RNC that trump sucks up all the donations, refuses to share and mainly uses them on his legal issues. Further, trump is trying to install his daughter in law as the RNC chair – if he is successful (of course he will be what he wants he gets) he will use the RNC to siphon money to him and him only, leaving most of these reps and senators out in the cold. Laura has already said every penny will go to him. This will hurt all of these races as these folks have no money left to campaign on, buy ads, or pay staff.
