This is literally the Keep Calm and Watch a Nature Documentary T-Shirt But I will love this most insane idea ever that we should support someone being freed of a voluntary burden that they do not want to have to endure, when we’ve successfully endured the challenge at great personal sacrifice to be freed of that voluntary burden. I am fine with supporting things which don’t directly affect me. For me the issue is the decisions which were made in the past. If we decide to subsidize students more in the future, that’s great. But we shouldn’t be forgiving loans that people voluntarily went into. The reality is, full forgiveness only benefits current borrowers (a small group) and does not solve the problem for the masses. The interest rates are killer Except, we all benefit from our economy finding more balance, freedom, and ability for our middle class to participate fully as workers, entrepreneurs, and consumers.
