After reading further comments I believe the band name should be Alpha Goose Complex and the album should be Landscape of Fear. Perfect name for a death metal band!! Just do vocals then. Doesn’t seem to require a lot of training to produce those primal screams! (I kid, I kid!!) You have the /s tag but they’ve actually done some studies where they can induce the vigilance and avoidance behaviors in prey animals by releasing wolf scent into the area so you could probably get deer to avoid you if you hosed your car down with wolf piss before traveling. Reindeer (the semi domestic ones) are pretty funny – they are not the least bit scared of cars and will just stand in the middle of the road and lick the road salt until they get mowed down. You can honk and pull down the window and yell and they will just be like “wtf you want bro?”. But as soon as you get out of the car and they see the you have predator eyes it’s like it just clicks and they will bolt. Wolves have been returning to our country (NL) over the past few years. I don’t know if their arrival has reduced the number of collisions with deer, but it has certainly increased the number of collisions with wolves. It almost seems like about half the ones we hear about get run over. The state where this study was conducted, Wisconsin, is also on track to hunt them to extinction for a second time. I live in a neighboring state that has worked for decades to not only prevent the wolves extinction, but raise enough to reintroduce them back in to the states that killed them off.

The local deer population is wildly, ridiculously out of control, and those suckers hang out on front lawns in broad daylight and saunter through the streets with perfect confidence. It’s completely unnatural. I like to call this the goose effect. Geese walk through the streets as if they owned them. Geese block traffic as if a car would crumble if it touched them. If you asked a goose who’s at the top of the food chain they’d put geese at position 1, 2, and 3. Unlike deer, this comes naturally. But you can give any animal the alpha goose complex through desensitization.
