Also, it’s just sad that older generations believe that it’s virtuous to be so poor or money hungry that you would sacrifice your health, safety, family, etc for work. Two days before your shift? Thats enough time for manager to secure someone to cover for you. Its (or should be) their job.

Yesterday I went to the office only for him to tell me to go back home and work remotely because I had a cold. I realize most people aren’t like him, but I’m glad people like him exist lol I’m worried about future generations, too. Everyone being expected to work while sick will spread the sickness then when it gets bad enough people will friggin’ DIE because for some outdated reason everyone’s expected to clock in at least 40 hours no matter what.
