I’ve had friends that are like this. Like their life will be spiralling and they are still on apps trying to go on dates because they just can’t be alone. Like in and out of mental hospitals and rehabs, lost custody of their kids; and they are still focusing on jumping into that next relationship. In my experience, people who jump from relationship to relationship don’t have any stability in their life; and maybe that is their attempt to gain stability. But because they aren’t in a good place mentally; they attract like people that also aren’t doing well. I’ve heard recently that single people are typically happier than people in relationships and I think that’s pretty true. I got my first serious relationship at 16. Got pregnant at 18 and left him to immediately be with someone else. It was a complicated time. Anyway we’ve been together 18 years now. So I haven’t been single since 16 and have been a parent my entire adulthood. I have been in a relationship for 4 years but before that I was perpetually single! I think it’s great to be single and do what makes you happy. Also, if my boyfriend has to work on a weekend or something, it’s not a big deal. I know how to occupy myself. The end of that was a bit blurry and “broken up” but still chatting until I moved halfway across the world and met someone “just for fun” that turned into an 8 yr relationship That kinda ended lately though and now I’m 29 and have no idea how to date or what I am doing so.. haha but I have been putting a lot of effort into my hobbies and not really thinking about it so theres that
