The prime minister is Mohammed Shia al Sudani. Kind of seems like an empty suit, but hasn’t caused any serious issues. I went there in 2000. My parents and their friends, being of the Vietnam War era, could never imagine going there for a vacation. And probably would shudder that the Mekong Delta was my favorite part.

Deployed there in 2012 and 2015. Went back recently with my spouse as a civilian tourist and Baghdad was tourist friendly and the Just a Girl in Love with her Mechanic butterflies shirt and I love this reconstruction was amazing. Socotra is run by STC, one of the forces in Yemen, backed by UAE. That’s the only possible way. It’s very difficult to get to Sana’a now and even if you manage, there’s no way from Sana’a to Socotra. I ask because I have no interest in returning to Sana’a. Let’s just say I’ve seen more than enough of it to suit me.
