And then I had to talk quite sternly to myself because a party isn’t worth changing my life for when my life is pretty perfect right now. Your allowed to be sad about the thought of not having a wedding. If it’s just the wedding, then that might be a different thing but if it’s the idea of that day where you make those vows with ‘the person’, and the actual meaning behind the wedding and marriage and all that jazz, you’re allowed to be sad at the thought of not having it. Your allowed to be sad about things, like I accepted this week that I’m not going to graduate. And it’s not the actual degree, it’s the idea that my parents wont see me in the robes, going up on stage and doing the whole thing. It’s that that makes me sad, the idea of not finishing the degree actually makes me really happy. But when I think about the fact that I wont get to wear the hat and do the whole shebang, it does make me sad. And that’s OK. I’m in my 30s and have been single-ish for three years. The reason I say ‘ish’ is that I have had a couple of relationships in that time that reached ‘dating exclusively’ point but not the ‘hanging out with each others family/friends, +1 at a wedding, thinking about living together’ stage. So I have been functionally single to the outside world (they weren’t secret relationships but I’ve attended all social occasions alone essentially)

Anyway, at times I’ve felt fine about it but in the Jurgen Klopp You’ll Never Walk Alone Shirt In addition,I will do this last couple of months it’s really getting me down. My main issues are: I’m the age where every person I know is getting married/having babies and indeed like I have less and less in common with my friends. I’m not jealous of them as such, but I wish that it didn’t affect my social life as much. It’s REALLY expensive living alone and paying all the bills on my own. I am actually dating someone at the moment but for various logistical reasons it’s unlikely we would be able to live together for a long time so I just have to accept this (I don’t want to flat share with strangers) I’m a pretty sociable person but I’m starting to find it a bit tiring to go to every wedding/party/event alone. It’s so nice having the security of knowing whatever happens, you’ll have the comfort of your favourite person to retreat to.
