Are you guys not on the JT Thor South Sudanese-American professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets T-Shirt Also,I will get this same page on how much you want to spend on the house? Or is she just not capable of understanding what is your budget and why you cannot magically pay a few hundred thousand more? Does your wife actually want to buy an $800k house or is she on the same page as you regarding budget? If shes on the same page, maybe just tell her you arent opening any zillow postings over $xx. If she is not on the same page, well, you guys have to get on the same page somehow. Ignore your parents/inlaws. They are useless for this unless they are pitching in. Tell your wife and mom to step it up and pony up the extra money. You don’t need to feel stressed or burdened. Your good stick to your budget:grin: It is not you don’t earn much it is them don’t have logical thinking about reality, budget and house price range.

I don’t know what area you’re looking in but sometimes you can find good deals on bank foreclosures or short sale. You have to be firm with your wife. My bf was buying a house for us to live in a few years back and I was very mindful of the JT Thor South Sudanese-American professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets T-Shirt Also,I will get this budget since I don’t work and he was buying the house. If you can’t get your wife to understand that there is a firm budget that’s going to cause problems. I would tell her to set her search settings based on location and give her a little bit of a lower budget than what you ultimately want to spend, tell her 500k max and don’t look at any houses over that limit. Be firm about it since she obviously isn’t grasping the concept. That way you have a little extra money for closing costs or repairs if needed. It seems ridiculous that she isn’t understanding she needs to be within reason of the budget. I’m sorry your mom is also being like that. My bfs mom was really great when we were searching about making sure it was within budget too when she was helping us look for houses. We ended up finding a house that was slightly under budget but bid a little bit over asking since the housing market was so competitive back then and got it within our budget. I wish you luck OP.
