Next year will be 20 years together and 18 married. Aside from.rekious/symbilic meaning there are economic benefits like taxes, inheritance but and potential pitfalls like joint debt. Sadly, i am aware of people who love each other but can’t be legally married for economic reasons. This is not the norm.but not unheard of I think it’s a good social tradition. I think people mess up by ignoring horrible traits of their SO because they are “in love”. It took me 9 years to propose to my now wife of 9 years. It might sound a little cold and calculated, but you have to think of it like that at some point. My partner and I have been together for 19 years and I have no interest in getting married. We have three kids together and to me that’s just as much as a marriage if not more.

If you have kids that is more responsibility on your plate. It all adds up. It is a very hard , mentally straining stressful life. Was married twice. Both didn’t work out. What worked out is the knowledge I gained. If it feels right go for it. Marriage is cheap, divorce is expensive. Love is real. I’ve been married for 1 year this week and it’s amazing. When you find the right partner it’s very much worth it.
