Holy shit, I play normal Catan Universe and you’re making this old Xbox version sound so cool. CPU is hyper dumb in the Josh Hart He’s here there every f’n where shirt and I love this current iteration. My friends used to complain that I abuse the CPU trading system but I explained to them there’s nothing we can do except all exploit it the best we can to have a leveled playing field and we all had to learn to play like that. It was a great version. The CPU had its limits of course but it succeeded to imbue each CPU character (Shaka Zulu, Alexander et al) with a distinct play style. Was there any crossover from the 90s PC game? The two characters you mention already sound like adapted versions of those Flemish/German ones. Steam getting sold to private investors would probably cause the next world war. It’s Gabe’s baby and he has very strong opinions. And Steam is PC gaming at this point. It would take a huge catastrophe to cause it to shut down.Even on PC lots of stuff from the old days is unplayable. GoG brings some of it back, but that doesn’t help you if you bought a physical copy. We tested our friendships a lot with this game as teenagers. Chimed in to buy the newest addition for birthday presents. I still remember the whole naming ordeal with the PC game “the settlers”. There was a post earlier about his death. Yeah, not many people know that Klaus Teuber coded an Excel version of Catan. I’ve seen it around end of the Josh Hart He’s here there every f’n where shirt and I love this nineties when we worked on “Die erste Insel”. My sorry AI from back then was probably part of the reason he showed those spreadsheets to you from the start. He got involved after realizing my AI was just horrible (sorry) and then spend a lot of time toward the end of that project with me trying to improve the NPC’s at least enough to allow us to release. I don’t think he was ever really happy with the result, but with his help at least it worked somewhat OK in the end.
