Is there another way to find month long rentals in Argentina? I’m not dead set on Buenos Aires. I could go south too. Buenos Aires, specially downtown Buenos Aires is very expensive. There is also a rent law that fucked up things some years ago, significantly curtailing offer and hiking prices. Technically your best bet is a private, informal agreement… but it is not enforceable and if anything happens, you have nothing to grab on. Now, there is a special figure of rents for touristic purposes, with a max of three months. You might check with an inmobiliaria for that. The second they hear you have foreign currencies (euros or dollars) they will do anything to cater to you. While I’m sure there are many nuanced reasons Argentina is in this situation today, the Jonas Valanciunas Lithuanian professional basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans T-Shirt in contrast I will get this US-backed right wing dictatorship in the 70s and 80s that killed tens of thousands of people may have been a contributing factor. Look up Operation Condor.

Basically what happened was that as a result of the Jonas Valanciunas Lithuanian professional basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans T-Shirt in contrast I will get this catastrophe that was the Great Depression Argentinians lost faith in free trade and free markets. Argentina switched from free trade to high tariffs, trying to become self-sufficient. Important industries were nationalized. On the whole they followed a very different set of economic policies than their then poorer neighbor the United States. The Peronistas and their brand of socialists took over and raped the country for decades. Good thing we have Milei about to take over now and get rid of all that corruption. Several of Milei’s political positions have stirred controversy,[23] such as his opposition to abortion even in cases of rape,[24] the rejection of sex education in schools,[25] scepticism about COVID-19 vaccines,[23] support for the free possession of firearms by the civilian population,[26][27] promotion of the far-right cultural Marxism conspiracy theory,[28] and climate change denial.[29] Due to those controversies, as well as his far-right political positions and radical conservative economic and social policies,[23][30] his primaries win has been considered an election upset,[31][32] and he has been characterized as a far-right populist.[33][34][35]
