My father was there my parents where married my entire child hood and 13 years before that and 10 years after i moved out on my own. My parents didn’t push in my family to get post secondary education. They gave me the usual “advice” not to listen, to ignore the bullies, and to be the “bigger person” and I know that they probably didn’t believe what I told them happened daily. Frustrated by my crying and coming home with bruises and all that, sometimes they scolded me publicly and even hit me once or twice.
