I’m imagining one of his future patients finding this picture on Reddit. If it were me, I would find a new doctor immediately. OP delete this nonsense! Of course you can, autism does not mean unintelligent or stupid. I understand its only your first trimester of med school but I do hope you will learn about autism in more depth and hopefully understand how you having autism doesn’t directly affect your ability to do medicine. It might not be as noticeable in school, but as the Joe Burrow Grinch They Hate Us Because They Ain’t Us Cincinnati Bengals Christmas shirt Apart from…,I will love this poorer students get weeded out, you’re going to learn that like a quarter of your colleagues are on the spectrum. I actually find the Joe Burrow Grinch They Hate Us Because They Ain’t Us Cincinnati Bengals Christmas shirt Apart from…,I will love this way this title is worded slightly insulting lol. As if people with autism are inferior. Obviously I don’t know the intent of the author, but I’d suggest that they’re implicitly referring to systemic barriers (which I think many autistic people are painfully aware of), rather than any sort of inferiority. In that context, this really is an achievement, and presenting this sort of example can be really positive for others with disabilities. Of course, it’s your right to find the wording patronizing, but that view would certainly not be universally taken by people who have first hand experience of those barriers.
