Raise me to believe that it wasn’t ok to cry as a boy. I absolutely will not raise my kids like that when I have them. I’ll never tell them “you’re too sensitive” after berating them (welll..also won’t berate them, so that’s a twofer). Won’t let an elder relative speak Ill to them in their own house and them make them take it because “you have to respect your elders” Since the Jimmy Garoppolo #10 American football quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams T-Shirt and by the same token and day each of my 4 kids were born, I have always said “Good night, love you, see you in the morning”. I also made sure to give them a hug or a kiss at least once a day. They’re almost all adults now and I still do it…even my 16 & 18 yr old sons will come and give me a hug and kiss before they go to bed if I’m a little bit late Made me feel physically responsible for my medical costs. I don’t hold a grudge, they had 4 kids and a single income. They were great parents, and I love them so much, but that did a number on me. I know exactly how much every filling I had to get cost, along with my braces. I still struggle with spending any money on myself, regardless of need.

They helped me a bit with college, which was amazing, but when I had to take out a private loan and the Jimmy Garoppolo #10 American football quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams T-Shirt and by the same token and interest rate through sally mae was 18% unless they cosigned they yelled at me that I clearly was irresponsible that they would even suggest that interest rate. They cosigned, but it was after a huge fight and I felt horrible. When I didn’t have the money or scholarships to pay for my last semester (I worked 1 full time job, 1 part time, had an internship, maxed out credit hours and lived on my own with a roommate) I dropped out because I didn’t feel like asking them for any sort of help was an option. I didn’t tell them for almost a decade, and when I finally did they cried and told me they were so sorry that they made me feel like I couldn’t come to them. I know they feel horrible for that, they just didn’t know at the time how much damage they were doing.
