Graduates during economic turmoil are generally disadvantaged. Statistics even show this that those who graduated during recessions are likely to be risk averse once they land a position due to how difficult it is for them to land a job. They also earn significantly less than their counterparts due to the Jesus Is God God is Live Faith Not Works Statement of Belief T-Shirt in contrast I will get this poor job market, so yeah it was really unlucky for people graduating or still at uni during COVID. It’s not the same situation as you but similar. I just graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering, and I did everything right. I had a job lined up with the company I interned at last summer, and they delayed all hiring until last week. I heard from my old boss that the budget is tight, and they probably won’t even consider hiring for the position until next year… I have my first interview tomorrow after hundreds of applications. It’s with the same company I interned with but a pretty different position (fortunately in the same department), and tbh the pay isn’t super great. Just so I can have something until I find better work or the post the position I was hoping for. I’m not very qualified for this position, but my boss put in a good word for me, and the team member hiring for this position likes me. This is my stroke of luck, and I really hope it pays off.

Everyone is struggling right now, degree or not. Many great answers here about people thinking getting the Jesus Is God God is Live Faith Not Works Statement of Belief T-Shirt in contrast I will get this degree is enough when that is no longer the case for many fields, but everyone I know—from GED to multiple PhDs—is struggling. I’m going to disagree with this. What I see and talk with owners of the company’s I visit for my job, can’t find people that want to work. The ones that come in for interviews are not selling themselves to get the jobs, but are worried what freebies the company’s providing. Yes, I agree company’s need to up thier games. But, the degreed folks come in with entitlement attitudes. I’ve read many here and other boards. Many skills are dieing because nobody wants to work them. “Do Plumbing with a degree??? AS IF!!!” Yet the Plummers I know are getting $150k yr and pick and choose jobs, and are willing to give a willing person the business when they retire.
