“From the Jessie Bates Superstar American football safety for the Atlanta Falcons T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this river to the sea” is a call for Jihad. The death of every Jew on Earth. Yeah, no shit. If someone said “let’s finish what the KKK started” they would get censured too. Frontal lobes, people. Saying “from the river to the sea” is the slogan of an actual terrorist organization. It’s an actual call for actual genocide. You can support Palestinians without supporting Hamas. That slogan is supporting Hamas. I was very anti people going after “the squad” because it was obviously rooted heavily in racism and xenophobia. Censuring her, or some form of acknowledgment that was she is saying is absolutely wrong was the correct move here What qualifies as actual genocide. Wouldn’t the parking lot comment from another member also be an actual call?

“It is fundamentally a call for a Palestinian state extending from the Jessie Bates Superstar American football safety for the Atlanta Falcons T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, territory that includes the State of Israel, which would mean the dismantling of the Jewish state,” the ADL writes. But now you want to make the discussion about what someone else has said rather than rebuking OPs main contention point or addressing the congresswoman’s direct comments. There’s a difference between the wanting your ancestral home back and wanting the extermination of the native population of your country Considering the ones removing the Israelis would be jihadists, they are the same. Israelis have no where else to go. A two state solution is the only way for peace. All I’m asking is before someone goes off on a tangent that they acknowledge OPs main point. Ignoring that point and bringing up a different point is whataboutism and implies tacit agreement with Tlaib’s use of the phrase. In other posts I call both unacceptable. Calling for Gaza to be made into a parking lot and calling for Palestine to extend river to sea are both out of line. Yeah, there are ways she could have gotten her point across without evoking something literally touted by Hamas. Is she stupid or was it intentional? I also believe we are looking at Israel attempting genocide so emotions are high, but there are consequences to free speech. Here it is a pretty insignificant one. Like is done to all of the complexities of the relationship Israel and Palestine, it seems you are also oversimplifying this phrase, its history, and its meaning to Palestinians.
