OP, I would just ask a co-worker that you trust when you should be in and when it is ok to leave—or start coming in 15 minutes earlier and leaving 15 minutes later for a week or so and see what you learn.. some people do keep score of stupid shit like that. One of those people may be your boss.

You’re doing your contacted hours, anything past that is you working for free. Never work for free. It will be expected of you if you start.
