In their defense (and boy do I hate doing it) they had funds to move with and get by for a while. They just got frozen (stolen) by the Jayson Tatum American professional basketball player Boston Celtics T-Shirt and by the same token and Russians. They were also supposedly in contact with some Russian officials. So from their point of view they did think they had both those bases covered. I wish media in North America would not run stories discouraging right wing christians from moving to russia. The more of them that go, the better off the rest of us are. Putin has no idea the problem he’s inviting into his country. serves them all right. “I can’t stand that in Canada people are free to be theirselves, so I’m moving to a different country that shares my values.”

Not a VN but long time here. Young woman I had helped a lot with her fledgling business (not romantic, her English is good and I have ran businesses for years). Anyway, she invites me to her small Tet dinner. I had other offers but yeah, why not, she is good company. Or was. 3 hrs before the Jayson Tatum American professional basketball player Boston Celtics T-Shirt and by the same token and dinner, I text and ask her if I should bring something. She replies that she has to look after the neighbor’s kids and cancels the dinner. I took this as the VN equivalent of “I have to wash my hair”. Like I say, there was no romance involved and kids? I thought that was what Tet was all about. My Condel owners took pity on me and invited me to their dinner and went with another friend to see the fireworks after. However, I was a little more than pissed at the girl standing me up on one of the.most important days of the calendar. edit: “Ghosted” is perhaps too harsh a word. I did talk to her about it, after getting over the initial shock (please understand, I have been here long enough to know Tet has a lot of social and mystical meanings in VN). She seemed in complete denial. Then a couple of days later, she did a very similar thing. It was then I stopped any assistance or extended chats. I reply to chats with Xin Chau, “Thank you so much” or an emoticon. In this smartphone/Zalo driven society, I call that ghosting.
