Nah, that is immaturity and refusal. Besides, you have every right to decide you don’t want to be with someone who cannot take care of themselves. That is your prerogative. I will say though that “get your useless ass out my house” was probably a bit over the top and you could have handled that better, even if the end result was the same. But I think your fundamental motivation is fine.

This to me sounds like a case of strategic incompetence. I may not be able to do things perfectly. But when my wife asks, I always put in a best effort, and she’s always happy because of it. This guy sounds like he’s just intentionally sabotaging himself so you get frustrated and just do it for him, and never ask anything of him. I know I’m gonna upset people now… But there’s this thing I read about a while ago, and this post made me think back to it. Sometimes, your partner will do something you want them to do, that they should be able to do (help out at home, cleaning, cooking, laundry, shopping etc), After you ask them to do it, they will do it in such a bad way, that you never want to ask them to do ut again, you will just do it yourself. They know it. And its manipulative AF. Good for you for focusing on yourself and your kids. Otherwise you would have had another child to care for. Or baby in this case.
