I’m tired of tipping. We shouldn’t have to supplement their income. Their employers should pay them. 20% is a lot. Just my personal opinion. If you get paid at least minimum wage, and you’re not in an artisan job (haircuts and tattoos type stuff), you’re not getting tipped. You work I. The kitchen? I’m sorry you don’t like your job, but you don’t get tipped. Thanks. Europe doesn’t even tip, right? The to-go orders pull you away from the customers who are actually going to tip you, and they always come in during the busiest part of the night when you’re spammed and in the weeds. At the restaraunt I worked at the servers had to make their customers’ salads, we had to toast and wrap the garlic bread, and then we had to package the to-go orders when they were ready, so it would take 5-10 minutes out of the night for each to-go order and for absolutely nothing because nobody ever tipped!!! Even worse, the manager would ring up the bill under your name in the PO system, and we had to tip out the bus boys based on our sales recorded in the PO, not based on our earned tips, so if the to-go order didn’t leave a tip it would literally COST me money to take and prepare the order. It honestly sucked balls.
