Yes, there are tourists, but not enough to keep an obscure historical museum afloat. The kinds of people going to PEI aren’t going for that. Non-Canadians: You can downvote me all you want, but it’s well known and ridiculed amongst other Canadians that Torontonians have an ego that doesn’t match their city. Toronto is a wannabe NYC without the attractions, culture, or population. I tell foreign visitors to skip it entirely, and go to Vancouver, Ottawa, or Montreal if they want to see Canadian cities. Toronto if anything is far more similar to Chicago and has by far Canada’s best theatre district, tons of rich culture and incredible food options. It’s not the Toronto of the 90s and early 2000s a lot has changed and there’s plenty of cool things to do and see apart from watching J Cole play basketball for the local team (Scarborough Shooting Stars). The whole trope of the rest of the country trotting out its hAtReD for Toronto is frankly tired and uncreative.

Torontonians don’t have an ego, people from other cities that play on this trope have a strange inferiority complex and obsession, especially those from Alberta.
