I know the Jaccob Slavin American professional ice hockey defenseman and alternate captain for the Carolina Hurricanes T-Shirt But I will love this plan above will never happen but that is an indictment of our educational system. Would everything I propose work? Would it result in better educational outcomes? Better success in college and careers? Yet it won’t happen and seems unrealistic. It’s infuriating. Better sex education. Some of the parents I worked with had a ton of kids! Kids they did not want and could not take care of. We need to provide them better sex education and access to birth control. We need to better support new parents. Paid leave for moms and dad. Kids need to bond with their parents. Developmentally it is very important. And high quality and affordable preschools and daycares!! With quality people !! A lot of preschools and daycares hire literally anyone.

This is important both medically and academically. When in school we need developmentally appropriate programs. I think admin forgets or doesn’t understand that kids will progress faster if they have appropriate foundational skills… at bare minimum play-based and explorative learning for K-1. And as much as the curriculum wants them to know their uppercase letters, basic colors, and numbers up to 10 before matriculation, they don’t. We’re setting them up for failure by having them start “behind”
