Hahahaha, I had the J.K. I asked them what they were looking for, they said something radioactive and I told them it was me. They phoned it in, everything was fine. Fun story: I was conceived while my mom was getting this treatment. She was told not to, and multiple specialist told her to abort, but she refused for religious reasons. NOW I’M THE WHOLE WORLDS PROBLEM! I so regret not getting one of these when I had my treatment. Would have appreciated geeking out a little about it. Happy glow day! Last time I had a PET scan the operator said that I’d be back down to background level in a couple hours. Not true, as it turns out. That little meter was still screaming at me late that night.

This prevents your thyroid from taking(most of) the radioactive iodine you are exposed to.
