First step is to find an exercise you enjoy. Everyone is different, and you may not like the I’ve Reached An Age Where My Train Of Thought Often Leaves The Station Without Me Scoobydoo shirt What’s more,I will buy this same exercise someone else likes. I enjoy running because I am an introvert and enjoy my own company. I also don’t like competing and prefer to go at my own pace, so long distance is a good fit for me. I set my music Playlist to some great songs, pick a nice route and hit the road. Some people prefer team sports, so they play casual football or rugby with their friends. Some people go dancing. Some people like pilates and yoga. Others take it light and easy and go for daily walks. The best way to stick to a workout is to actually like it. It shouldn’t feel like torture. And the longer you keep doing it, the easier it gets and the more you enjoy it. And once you find that method of exercising that works for you, the easier it becomes to pick up others. You start to really enjoy moving and training your body. You get hooked to the improvement in not just your physical appearance, but your mental well-being as well. Just keep trying until you find “the one”.

The discipline I created from the long term habit just makes going to the gym something I do. Part of the daily routine Make it fun! I made a home gym in my garage and workout after work while my kid rides his bike and plays in the driveway. Somehow spending time, talking, and watching my son play while working out and listening to my own music on the loud speaker and having the wife pop by to say hi every now and then makes it 100 times more fun then wasting 30 minutes driving to a gym and working out around a bunch of strangers.
